“Bricks, Badges & Courage: A Legacy
of Honor and Tradition”
“Bricks, Badges & Courage: A Legacy of Honor and Tradition,” is the Former Texas Rangers Foundation’s Capital Building Campaign to raise $8 million to build the new Texas Rangers History and Education Center. Phase I of the Foundation’s plans closed in 2003 with the acquisition of the 15 acre site in Kerrville for the new facility and Phase II of the campaign to raise funds for the construction and operations is underway.
Why build the Texas Rangers Education and History Center?
The Former Texas Rangers Association, chartered in 1897 by legendary Ranger Captain John S. (Rip) Ford, continues their commitment to preserving Texas history each day with their original museum in San Antonio. Located in Memorial Hall in conjunction with exhibits from the Trail Drivers and Pioneers, the building is now 69 years old and badly in need of updating and expansion. There’s simply not enough room to tell the story of the Texas Rangers’ role in Texas history and preserve it for future generations and the Former Texas Rangers Foundation is committed to helping the Association fulfill their mission.

“The Former Texas Rangers Foundation, chartered in 1971 as a 501(c)(3) corporation by the late Captain A. Y. Allee and several other prominent Texans, has resolved as its’ mission to support the Association in our efforts to preserve the history and heritage of the Texas Rangers,” said Former Texas Rangers Association President Dan North, retired Captain of Co. “A”. “The Foundation’s commitment to providing this support with the Texas Rangers History and Education Center allows the Association to continue our preservation efforts by giving us a place to expand and tell the Rangers’ story.” For a “Bricks, Badges & Courage: A Legacy of Honor and Tradition” brochure or more information about the Capital Building Campaign and available naming opportunities, contact the Former Texas Rangers Foundation at 1-888-766-4055. |
